November is shaping up to be a month of cosmic turbulence and unexpected twists. We’ve got Mercury retrograde creeping up in two weeks (starting on the 25th), which is sure to bring its usual communication chaos. Add to that the impending retrograde of Mars in early December, which promises a heavy dose of lethargy and tension. While the Full Moon on November 15th lands in a favourable spot for the Moon itself, the skies are far from calm. There are some wild astrological energies at play that could make this Full Moon more unpredictable than usual.
The Full Moon's Uranus Conjunction: Expect the Unexpected
Compounded by this we have a full Moon on November 15th which is conjunct Uranus, the wild card of the skies. Full Moons always bring excess energy. Police forces schedule more officers on the beat, hospitals get more visits to A & E, the stock market drops and gains more points that any other time; statistically energy is just more susceptible to be volatile at a full moon. So the fact we have this Full Moon with the planet of disruption breathing down its neck, expect an intense one.
In astrology the visible planets are the ones we are most familiar with; Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Uranus is known as one of the higher octave planets and denotes a more rapid, finely tuned vibration and symbolises cosmic energy. As this planet is next to the Moon for everyone this is a moon affecting humanity as a whole. If we could sum up this planet in one word, it would be surprises. Or if we were allowed two words, Weird Surprises. Uranus loves the unconventional, as an energy expect exciting, stimulating, shocking and unconventional. It is also lighting quick. Uranus transits begin with a jolt, can bring a new job or lover, but bear in mind this energy is erratic, and the job or person can also end and exit your life just as quickly as they came in.
As Uranus is such a stimulating planet when it transits a planet such as the Moon which is happiest in Taurus ( where things are steady and stable) it is safe to say it is not a transit it enjoys. Uranus is extremely unsettling for a planet like the Moon and tends to bring up intense emotions and irrational ones too.
Now if we have been stuck in a rut then an Uranus transit can be just what the doctor ordered. Even though Uranus shakes us off our balance, sometimes we need a little kick to restart us and get going in the direction we are meant to be in. As Uranus is the ruling planet of Aquarius, (the Humanartian planet) ti can also bring up strong emotions about our role in society and how much or how little we are contributing to it. It is really positive for shaking up the status quo or for troubleshooting something. Uranus can't stand stagnant energy or where we are not taking a stand. It wants to cut through anything murky, irrational or vague. Uranus breaks away from things it doesn't believe in.
Uranus always implies a break through or a change of some kind, but such a breakthrough is not always kindly received by the ego. Change sounds scary on paper, but sometimes it is just what the doctor ordered. This is a full Moon when we cannot go ahead with something if odes not align with our values. If you have have fixed energy in your chart (Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius and Leo) you will feel this moon the most.
So this Full Moon take a walk on the weird side. Do something which transgresses the existing authority or the status quo. As Uranus is extremely unconventional, the more you embrace the weird the better. If you hold back Uranus its energy just tends to come out in other less evolved ways. In myth Saturn dismembers Uranus and throws the dismembered phallus into the sea. Merging with the foam, it gives birth to Aphrodite. You might have seen Botticelli's painting of Venus rising out of the sea. So Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, is born out of Uranus chaos. Therefore from this Full Moon, great things can sprout.
