Astrological Significations The Hanged Man is the Major Arcana card that represents the element of water, physical and astral. The energy is receptive and intuitive and going with the flow. Water is associated with consciousness itself, personified by the vastness of the sea, and the tranquilizing hush of endless waves upon the shore. Water is also the most fertile element we have but with the Hanged Man it is similar to the 12th House in Astrology, there can be an idea of loss here or letting go.
